Our Work

Stories for the heart of Winchelsea

Every program has a story. Here are some of the moments that remind us why this community house matters.

Education

The Workshop Series

From sourdough baking to first aid, from beginner watercolour to digital literacy for seniors — our community workshop series has run over 40 different sessions in the past year alone. Each one is a chance to learn something new, share a skill, and meet a neighbour you didn’t know you had.

Impact

20+ workshops run, 100+ attendees

Auspising

Backing Community Ideas

Not every great community idea comes with a legal structure attached. Through our auspicing service, Winchelsea Community House provides the organisational backing — financial accountability, insurance and governance oversight — that allows local groups and individuals to access funding and bring their projects to life. From small neighbourhood initiatives to larger grant-funded programs, we’ve helped ideas that might otherwise never get off the ground find a solid place to stand.

Impact

Multiple community projects supported annually

Wellbeing

Yoga and Pilates Find Their Home

When our yoga and pilates programs launched with just six mats and a committed teacher, nobody could have predicted how quickly it would fill the room. Today our evening classes bring together people from every walk of Winchelsea life — retirees, young parents, farmers and first-timers — all in the same space.

Impact

120+ regular participants, 8 classes per week
