Our People

The house community

Community Impact

Your support helps us offer a wide range of programs and services that directly benefit local residents, from educational workshops to social events. These initiatives are designed to improve quality of life, promote social inclusion, and provide lifelong learning opportunities.

Positive Publicity

Aligning your brand with Winchelsea Community House positions your organisation as a community advocate. This positive association can enhance your brand’s reputation and increase customer loyalty.

Corporate Social Responsibility

Demonstrating a commitment to social responsibility can boost employee morale and attract talent who value working for a company that gives back to the community. Partnering with us showcases your dedication to making a positive difference.

Tax Benefits

Contributions to non-profit organisations like Winchelsea Community House may be tax-deductible, providing financial benefits to your organisation while supporting a good cause.

Your Impact

Six ways your support can make a difference.

1.

Funding Educational Workshops

Contributions can help cover costs for workshops on various topics, including computer skills, financial literacy, and health and wellness, providing valuable knowledge to community members.

2.

Supporting Youth Programs

Sponsorship can enable the development and continuation of youth-focused activities, helping to engage and inspire the younger generation. Our WYLD group (Winchelsea’s Youth Leisure Drop-in) in particular has been very active giving teens something to do and places to go.

3.

Covering Event Costs

Fund annual community events like fairs, festivals, and holiday celebrations. These events bring people together, fostering a sense of belonging and community spirit.

4.

Upgrading Facilities

Donations can be used to improve and maintain our facilities, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for all users. This includes everything from renovating spaces to upgrading technology and equipment.

5.

Subsidising Activities

Your support can help make our programs accessible to all by subsidising fees for low-income families and individuals, ensuring that financial barriers do not prevent participation.

6.

Launching New Initiatives

Help us innovate by funding new projects and initiatives tailored to meet emerging community needs. This could include anything from mental health support groups to environmental sustainability programs.

Organisational Structure

How we operate

Our Legal Format

Winchelsea Community House is an independent Incorporated Association. While we are not a registered charity, we operate as a self-governing not-for-profit organisation run by our Committee and members.

Winchelsea Community House has Deductible Gift Recipient (DGR) status via a public fund. This means we can accept donations, and you can receive a tax deduction for your contribution.

We are also a proud member of Neighbourhood Houses Victoria, and of its local sub-group, Neighbourhood Houses Barwon. This connects us to a wider network of community houses working to support and strengthen their local communities.

Our Funding

We receive basic funding from the Surf Coast Shire, State Government ACFE and DPDC bodies, donations and sponsorship, and also through our own fund-raising activities.

Although uncounted in monetary terms, the contributions of our volunteers (both operationally within our House and strategically within the Committee) have a huge impact on what we get done with very limited funds. Their input is quite literally invaluable!
