About Us

A home for the Winchelsea community - run by the people in it

Mission

What we do

Winchelsea Community House has been a gathering place for locals for many years. We offer yoga classes, children’s activities, adult education workshops and a welcoming space where people can simply come together — whether they need connection, a creative outlet, or a place to move and breathe.

We are run by passionate volunteers and a small dedicated team who believe that community wellbeing starts with having somewhere to belong. Our programs are low-cost, inclusive, and shaped by the people who use them.

The Staff

Day-to-day life at Winch House is coordinated by our paid Manager, who brings all programs, services and activities together under one roof. The Manager is responsible for the smooth operational running of the organisation and supports staff to do their best work — ensuring every program is delivered with care, consistency and community at its heart.

The Committee

Winchelsea Community House is guided by a volunteer Committee of Governance drawn from the local community. The Committee sets the strategic direction of the organisation, overseeing policy formulation and review, the annual budget and financial health, the appointment and performance review of staff, and medium and long-term planning. They provide the high-level oversight that keeps Winch House accountable to the people it serves.
